Living with Uncertainty
Uncertainty is woven into the fabric of being human — perhaps the only certainty we truly have.
We live in complex and rapidly changing times.
Climate anxiety, social and political unease, technological change and the pressures of contemporary life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or uncertain about what comes next.
"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star"
Sometimes we respond by doing more: striving, achieving, fixing, distracting ourselves. Sometimes we retreat, becoming numb or losing touch with what matters to us.
Therapy can offer a different kind of space.
A place to pause.
To breathe.
To listen beneath the noise.
To begin to notice what your experience might be asking of you, rather than simply asking what you should do about it.
From a soulful perspective, difficulty is not necessarily something to be eradicated. Sometimes it carries information about what has been neglected, wounded, outgrown or is longing to change.
Transformation may begin not with certainty, but with our willingness to stay present to what we do not yet understand.
As the authors of Transformation in Troubled Times remind us, transformation is often born through our encounter with uncertainty and difficulty rather than through their avoidance.
There may be no neat answers. But there can be a deeper relationship with ourselves, with one another, and with the living world of which we are part.
“Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke
Therapy is, ultimately, an invitation to stay curious about your own unfolding.
To make room for what has been silenced.
To discover what has been lost or forgotten.
And perhaps, slowly, to find your way towards a life that feels more fully your own.

I work in Hampton Village which is in The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames very close to Teddington, Twickenham, Sunbury, Kingston and Richmond. There are good public transport links here from London with a BR station 5mins from my door.
Individual psychotherapy and supervision fees are on a scale. This means I can offer some concession rates alongside my usual starting rate of £85 per 50mins session.
Fees are required for all sessions except pre-arranged holidays or rare cancellations by me.
If you cancel, I’ll try to reschedule within the same week; otherwise, the standard fee applies.
Please leave a message and I will contact you as soon as possible.
